Q: How big or old must my pet be to be trained?

A:  The pet should be well adjusted to the home environment before beginning training. De-Fence Your Pet™  recommends that your pet be at least eight weeks old,

  but has no minimum or maximum size limitations.  In the past, De-Fence Your Pet™ 

  has trained a seven-week old Teacup Poodle with no problems.

Q: My dog is 10 years old.  Can it be trained?

A: De-Fence Your Pet™  has trained many senior pets on our electronic pet fences.

Q: How long will it take to train my dog?

A: Most of De-Fence Your Pet™ clients' dogs are trained in about six days. 

Our gentle training drastically reduces the duration of training and is more humane 

   than our competitors' methods.

Q: Will the correction hurt my pet?

A: The correction is safe and harmless, yet effective enough to STARTLE the dog. 

The correction produces less energy than that produced by a static shock from

   carpeting.

Q: How big an area will the transmitter cover?

A: De-Fence Your Pet™  transmitter can cover up to 100 acres

Q: How often must I replace the batteries in the receiver?

A: This will vary depending on how often your dog tests the boundary.  In most cases the battery will last five to eight months. However, the low battery indicator light will

   alert you when the batteries are low so you can change the batteries before they

   expire.

Q: Can my cat be contained on this system?

A: Yes, it has been our experience that cats respond well with the proper training.

Q: How many pets can be put on the system?

A: There are no limitations to the number of pets you can contain.

Q: Does your receiver receive false signals and shock the dog accidentally?

A: No. De-Fence Your Pet™ uses a digital receiver which eliminates false signals.

Just like your cell phone cannot ring unless someone is calling, our receiver / collar  

   cannot falsely activate in front of TV's, microwave ovens or other electronic devices.

Q: Is your receiver waterproof?

A: The receiver is encased in a high-impact ABS thermoplastic housing. It is guaranteed to be 100% water proof.  Your dog can swim without damaging the collar.

   But if some thing did happen to the receiver / collar and it is damaged, the 

   manufacturers warranty does apply.

Q: What happens if my dog chews up the receiver and destroys it?

A: Unlike our competitors we have a dog chew warranty.  If your pet chews up the receiver/collar, or a second dog chews it up, just save the parts and it will be replaced

   under the life-time warranty.
